School Retool

School Retool: D.C. is a professional development fellowship that helps school leaders redesign school culture using small, scrappy experiments called “hacks.” Hacks may start small, but they’re built on research-based practices that lead to Deeper Learning, and can create the kind of big change you aspire to—namely, preparing your students for life in the real world.

School Retool: D.C. is a partnership between CityBridge Foundation, the Stanford Design School, and IDEO to bring the School Retool program—originally developed in California—to D.C.

Our second cohort will run over four months in the Fall of 2016 (September through December).  Applications are due by midnight on June 6, 2016.

To learn more about the program, please visit the School Retool website. You can access the D.C.-specific application there, or go directly to the application form here.

Interested applicants, please mark your calendars, the fall 2016 program includes the following dates:

  • Workshop 1 – Sept. 29, 2016
  • Workshop 2 – Oct. 20, 2016
  • Workshop 3 – Nov. 10, 2016
  • Workshop 4 – Dec. 1, 2016

we bring school leaders together to make BIG CHANGES by STARTING SMALL!
